Football Recap: Lincoln County Falls Short of Manchester in the Playoffs

Lincoln County and Manchester squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lincoln County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Manchester Blue Devils by a score of 20-17. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Lincoln County still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Wade, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 123 yards on eight of 14 attempts. 84 of Wade's passing yards were hauled in by Christian Crite.

Darrius Favors continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Manchester, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Favors' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 119 rushing yards.

Lincoln County's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-1. As for Manchester, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Lincoln County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manchester, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-14 defeat against Brooks County on the 6th.
