Basketball Recap: Donisha Davis and Blessyn Preston Secure Win for Dunbar

Dunbar hadn't done well against Withrow recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Dunbar Wolverines took down the Withrow Tigers 63-45. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly 18 points.

Dunbar was led to victory by Blessyn Preston and Donisha Davis. Preston went 10 for 18 on her way to 24 points in addition to seven boards and six steals, while Davis dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Davis is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Rayne Manson, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Dunbar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Dunbar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Withrow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Dunbar has already played their next contest (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Withrow does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
