Recap: Silver Bluff Bulldogs vs. Strom Thurmond Rebels
The Silver Bluff Bulldogs lost against the Strom Thurmond Rebels back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Silver Bluff took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Strom Thurmond. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Silver Bluff has scored all season.
Silver Bluff lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gerald Lark jr., who scored five points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Perry, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Quan Edmond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Strom Thurmond, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Darrian Hendrix was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and two steals.
Silver Bluff's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for Strom Thurmond, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will take on Batesburg-Leesville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Batesburg-Leesville is ranked 201st, while Silver Bluff is ranked 192nd). As for Strom Thurmond, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fox Creek at 7:45 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fox Creek comes in on seven and Strom Thurmond on five.
