Baseball Recap: Bentley Comes Up Short

Bentley dropped to 7-8 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Brave Christian Lions, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-1 loss on Tuesday.

Bentley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Rachuba, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Rachuba has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

As for Brave Christian, they pushed their record up to 20-0-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Considering they have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Brave Christian's side, Caesar Cornelio was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Cornelio a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Jadon Hart was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Legend Dorham, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

As of now, neither Bentley nor Brave Christian have any future games scheduled.
