Basketball Game Preview: Briggs Bruins vs. Africentric Early College Nubians

Briggs is 2-8 against Africentric Early College since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Briggs Bruins will look to defend their home court against the Africentric Early College Nubians at 7:00 p.m.

Briggs is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Charles.

Meanwhile, Africentric Early College had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Polar Bears 71-32. The Nubians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Africentric Early College pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35 points. As for Briggs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Briggs took a serious blow against Africentric Early College in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 80-48. Can Briggs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
