Baseball Recap: Red Hook Starts Season with Win Against Germantown

Red Hook had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Germantown Clippers get on the board and left with a 19-0 win on Monday.

Dylan MacDonald made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. MacDonald was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Luca Friedman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Phillip Briehof was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Coincidentally, Red Hook and Germantown will both be playing Taconic Hills the next time they take the field. Red Hook will host Taconic Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Germantown will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
