Volleyball Game Preview: The Classical Academy Titans vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks

The Classical Academy hasn't had much luck against Cheyenne Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Titans will head out to square off against the Red-Tailed Hawks at 8:00 a.m. The Classical Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Tuesday, The Classical Academy made easy work of Mitchell and carried off a 3-0 win.

The Classical Academy's got stronger as the match went on, holding Mitchell to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-11, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain hadn't done well against Palmer Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Red-Tailed Hawks put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Red-Tailed Hawks in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

The Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

The Classical Academy came up short against Cheyenne Mountain when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
