Recap: Julian Eagles vs. Warner Wildcats
The Julian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 55-41 bruising from Warner. Julian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Warner apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Julian saw an underclassman step up: Pete Vanderstaay scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Max Cruz, who scored ten points.
Warner's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Calac, who scored 13 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Calac has scored all season. Anthony Porras was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Julian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Warner, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Julian will challenge San Pasqual Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Warner on the road again on Friday and play against Borrego Springs at 3:30 p.m. on January 12th. Borrego Springs is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
