Baseball Preview: Monticello Buckaroo vs. San Juan Broncos        
        
		
            Monticello is 0-10 against San Juan since March of 2021 but things could change  on Tuesday. The Monticello Buckaroo will take on the San Juan Broncos at 3:30  p.m. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Last Monday,  everything went Monticello's way against Dolores as Monticello made off with  an  8-1 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Buckaroo.

 Jackson Keyes and  Triston Felix made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Keyes   tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Meanwhile,  Felix   kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024. At the plate,  Keyes  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances, while  Felix  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Felix has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  home run the last three times he's  played.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Cache Young, who  went 1-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, San Juan had just enough and edged out American Leadership Academy  8-7 on Saturday.
 Branten Bethea was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  he  hit this season.  Baylor Nielson was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 San Juan was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive  contests.
 Monticello's record is now 2-0. As for San Juan, their record is now 5-3.
 Monticello suffered a grim  22-2 defeat to San Juan  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Can Monticello avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
