Basketball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

Commerce came up into this matchup off a tough 40-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Mount Vernon Tigers by a score of 54-52 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for Commerce in their matchups with Mount Vernon: they've now lost six in a row.

Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Mount Vernon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Prairiland the next time they take the court. Commerce will host Prairiland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mount Vernon will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 21st.
