Basketball Recap: Suffield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Staples back in December of 2024, Suffield came back down to earth. The Suffield Wildcats had to suffer through a 57-22 loss at the hands of the Morgan Huskies. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Morgan was led to victory by Maddy Grenon and Sadie Passante. Grenon went 9 of 17 en route to 20 points and four steals, while Passante went 6 of 15 on her way to 15 points along with six assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Grenon a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Luciani, who posted seven points along with eight boards and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Suffield fell to 2-1. As for Morgan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Suffield will square off against Granby Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morgan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-15 victory against Old Lyme on the 10th.
