Football Recap: Wetumka Chieftains vs. Weleetka Outlaws

Wetumka lost against Weleetka back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chieftains had to suffer through a 50-8 loss at the hands of the Outlaws. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Outlaws are ranked third).

Will Lewis threw for 95 yards on six of 13 attempts. Nick Taylor was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards. On the ground, Dwayne Lowe rushed for 47 yards and one score.

Isaiah Drake continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Weleetka, rushing for 132 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 308 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Drake's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Bryant Sites, who gained 196 total yards and three touchdowns.

Wetumka now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Weleetka, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
