Football Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Sumter County + How To Watch

Sumter County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Carver 39-20 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Sumter County as they're now sitting on five straight.

Sumter County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Sumter County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tabion Whitehead and Terry. Terry got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Sumter County's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Carver, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 12-1.

Looking ahead, Sumter County will square off against Hapeville Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Carver does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
