Baseball Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

Reading came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-3 to the Muhlenberg Muhls. The Red KNights haven't had much luck with the Muhls recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Reading saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Janser Paredes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Paredes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another was Samir Diaz Batista, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Muhlenberg, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will take on Berks Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Saints have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Muhlenberg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Penn Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Muhls surely won't give up without a fight.
