It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Broome ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by the Chesnee Eagles 35-34. The Centurions haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Tyqwon Booker went supernova, rushing for 219 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Jameson Dearybury was another key player, rushing for 43 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Broome was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

The victory got Broome back to even at 1-1. As for Chesnee, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broome is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Spartanburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chesnee, they will head out to square off against Walhalla at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
