            The Petal Panthers will head out to  square off against the Pearl Pirates  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Petal will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Petal is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Everything went their way against Meridian on Friday as they made off with  a  20-1 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven  runs or more this season.

 Kaleb Dillon looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. What's more,  he posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in February.
 At the plate,  Easton Giger was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven  RBI, four  runs,  and two  doubles. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.  Tanner Beliveau was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run and five  RBI.
 Petal  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .733. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Pearl, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Columbia  6-4. The  win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Petal pushed their record up to 14-5 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pearl, their record is now 5-12.
 Petal couldn't quite get it done against Pearl in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 as they fell  5-2. Can the Panthers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
