Football Recap: Ooltewah Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ooltewah extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 35-14 to the East Hamilton Hurricanes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Owls of the 42-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ooltewah still got an impressive performance from Griffin Patterson, who picked up 79 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 46 yards.

As for East Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1. Considering they have won six matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jermaine Heathington had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 141 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 141 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jaden Haywood was another key player, rushing for 108 yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Ooltewah will be playing in front of their home fans against Lenoir City at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Owls will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for East Hamilton, after each having a week off, they and Soddy Daisy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
