Basketball Recap: Athens Christian Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Athens Christian saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against the Banks County Leopards by a score of 73-63. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Despite the loss, Banks County still got an impressive performance from Kolby Watson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. Watson's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Dale, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Athens Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. As for Banks County, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens Christian will square off against Lakeview Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Athens Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Lakeview Academy likes a good challenge. As for Banks County, they will face off against Rabun County at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
