Woodward Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 69-50 win over the McIntosh Chiefs on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the War Eagles as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Deke Cooper was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jarvis Hayes Jr., who posted eight points and three steals.

Woodward Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.6 points over those games. As for McIntosh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-18.

Looking ahead, Woodward Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Milton at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Woodward Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 28 matches -- so hopefully Milton likes a good challenge. McIntosh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
