Softball Recap: R-S Central Continues Home Dominance on Friday

R-S Central won the last time they faced Chase and things went their way on Friday too. R-S Central blew past Chase 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Hilltoppers, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Harris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillie Beheler, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Maeli Crain was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

R-S Central pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Chase, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, R-S Central will head out to take on East Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chase, they will welcome Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
