Basketball Recap: Pella Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

A well-balanced attack led Pella over Newton in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. The Pella Dutch took down the Newton Cardinals 53-37. Given the Dutch's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st in Iowa, while the Cardinals are ranked 91st in Iowa), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pella pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points over those games. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
