Baseball Recap: St. Paul Central Comes Up Short at Home Against Minnehaha Academy

St. Paul Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 9-3 to the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Minutemen of the 9-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Billy Vander Aarde was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Minnehaha Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

St. Paul Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-4 win against Johnson on the 14th. As for Minnehaha Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 defeat against Perham on the 12th.
