Volleyball Recap: Waynesburg Central Has No Trouble Against Neshannock

Waynesburg Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Neshannock Lancers on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Waynesburg Central's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 25-12.

Waynesburg Central can attribute much of their success to Chatham Knight, who had 14 assists and eight digs. That's the most digs Knight has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Lelia McCollum, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Waynesburg Central's victory bumped their record up to 20-0. As for Neshannock, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Waynesburg Central will square off against Avonworth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neshannock, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shenango at 3:30 p.m. on November 24.
