Recap: D DME Academy vs. Life Prep Fire

The D DME Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 72-54 victory over Life Prep. That's two games straight that D has won by exactly 18 points.

The game was Goryanova's third in a row with at least ten points. Asya lara Barnes was another key contributor, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists.

D's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Life Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. D will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on TPLS Christian Academy on January 4, 2024. Life Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Independent at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Independent is ranked eighth, while Life Prep is ranked fifth).
