Baseball Recap: Thunderridge Starts Season with Win Against Bear Creek

ThunderRidge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Bear Creek Bears 8-6. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eli Jackson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cade Rath was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Colton Lien, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.

ThunderRidge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against Columbine on the 13th. As for Bear Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-4 win against D'Evelyn on the 13th.
