Basketball Recap: Southwestern Randolph Takes a Loss

Southwestern Randolph lost against Eastern Randolph back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southwestern Randolph Cougars received a blow as they fell 78-60 to the Eastern Randolph Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Wildcats are ranked 213th).

Timothy Brower continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Eastern Randolph, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Julian Brooks, who went 6 of 12 en route to 18 points and three steals.

Southwestern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Eastern Randolph, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Southwestern Randolph wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-52 loss against Wheatmore on the 9th. As for Eastern Randolph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-77 win against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 9th.
