After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four contests, Dayspring Christian Academy finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Akron Rams, falling 34-8. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this game were averaging 13.2 points allowed.

When it comes to explaining why Dayspring Christian Academy lost, don't look at Elijah Martin. Despite the final result, he picked up 45 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 64 yards on only nine carries. Martin was even better on defense, making 14 total tackles and defending one pass.

Jace Curtis produced another solid effort rushing for 87 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 33 yards and one touchdown for Akron. Curtis also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making 11 total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dayspring Christian Academy fell to 4-1. As for Akron, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
