Softball Game Preview: Hammond Tornadoes vs. Springfield Bulldogs

The Hammond Tornadoes will face off against the Springfield Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hammond has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hammond lost 25-9 to St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday. The Tornadoes have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Springfield came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over St. Scholastica on Thursday.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Hammond, their loss dropped their record down to 3-23.

Hammond might still be hurting after the 18-4 defeat they got from Springfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can the Tornadoes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
