Softball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Hoover was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of the Riverside Beavers by a score of 4-2. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Beavers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hoover has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Riverside, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Hoover and Riverside will both be playing Mentor the next time they take the field. The Vikings will head out to face the Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Beavers will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
