Softball Game Preview: Assumption Royals vs. Pacelli Cardinals

The Assumption Royals will challenge the Pacelli Cardinals on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Assumption 2.5, Pacelli 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Assumption is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Auburndale. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

Meanwhile, Pacelli entered their tilt with Marathon on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Red Raiders get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Cardinals have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Pacelli's win bumped their record up to 27-1. As for Assumption, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5-1.

Assumption suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Pacelli in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
