Baseball Recap: Hozho Academy Wins Going Away Against Grady

After only one run in their last game, Hozho Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Grady on Thursday. The Hozho Academy Wolves put the hurt on the Grady Bronchos with a sharp 26-5 victory.

Keihin Kirk and Cody Dooley made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Kirk tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Dooley pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Kirk scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Dooley got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.

In other batting news, Hozho Academy let Brody Brown and Philip Elkins run wild. Brown went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Elkins scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Elias Longhat, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The win got Hozho Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Grady, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
