Preview: Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs vs. Thunder Ridge Longhorns

Sylvan-Lucas has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Thunder Ridge Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sylvan-Lucas' defense has only allowed 26.9 points per game this season, so the Longhorns' offense will have their work cut out for them.

In what's become a running theme this season, Sylvan-Lucas gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 48-17 victory over Rock Hills.

Thunder Ridge might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 78-46 to the Blujays, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Thunder Ridge in their matchups with the Blujays: they've now lost six in a row.

Kamryn Rietzke put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 19 points. That was a full 41.3% of Thunder Ridge's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jennifer Cochrun, who scored six points.

Sylvan-Lucas pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Thunder Ridge, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.

Sylvan-Lucas came up short against the Longhorns when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 54-50. Will Sylvan-Lucas have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
