Soccer Recap: Wisdom Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wisdom had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Bellaire Cardinals out 2-1. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Cardinals are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wisdom has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Bellaire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Wisdom will welcome Houston Math Science & Tech at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Bellaire, they will venture away from home to square off against Cesar E. Chavez at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Cesar E. Chavez's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
