Baseball Recap: Pecos Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Pecos challenged Raton on Saturday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-5 victory. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 10-9 loss.

Pecos let Brandon Holton and Pedro Terrazas run wild. Holton went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run, while Terrazas got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Terrazas has become a key player for Pecos: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-17 otherwise. Jonah Villanueva was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pecos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Pecos' win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-17. As for Raton, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Pecos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Raton, they will welcome McCurdy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 15.8 runs per game this season.
