Preview: Sidney Yellowjackets vs. Piqua Indians
The Sidney Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Piqua Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After a string of four wins, Sidney's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairborn by a score of 44-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sidney has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Piqua lost to Butler on the road by a decisive 44-30 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Piqua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while Butler is ranked 322nd).
Sidney's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Piqua, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Sidney might still be hurting after the 68-48 defeat they got from Piqua when the teams last played back in January. Can Sidney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
