Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton Prairie). Everything went their way against the Tipton Blue Devils on Friday as they made off with an 18-4 win. The victory was nothing new for the Gophers as they're now sitting on four straight.
Sadie Weliver made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. Weliver was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Clinton Prairie got a massive performance out of Keera Grizzle, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Grizzle a new career-high. Alexis Perez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Clinton Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive matchups.
