Baseball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Comes Up Short

Roanoke Rapids came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Northern Nash Knights, falling 25-3. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Blaine Warren made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ayden Brantley, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

With the defeat, Roanoke Rapids broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Northern Nash, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roanoke Rapids will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Nash Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Northern Nash, they will venture away from home to challenge Chatham Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
