Basketball Recap: Salt Lake Academy Takes a Loss

After soaring to 60 points the game before, Salt Lake Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They were dealt a 73-26 defeat at the hands of the North Sanpete Hawks. The Griffins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.

Aaron Zamora was Salt Lake Academy's leading scorer, having posted 12 points. Zamora also led the team in assists with two. Harper Wilson held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

North Sanpete was led to victory by Bryce Swapp and James Clayton. Swapp posted 13 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Clayton went 7-for-11 to rack up 16 points and seven rebounds. Those 16 points gave Clayton a new career-high. Milo Hendry was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 10 points and five boards.

Salt Lake Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Salt Lake Academy has already played their next contest, a 40-22 defeat against Waterford on the 20th. As for North Sanpete, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-44 victory against Ben Lomond on the 21st.
