Baseball Recap: Hobbs Comes Up Short

Hobbs had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Los Lunas Tigers by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Chase Brister spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Jackson Souter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Jayden Hernandez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Coming up, Hobbs will challenge Cleveland at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Los Lunas, they will take on Carlsbad in a tournament on Friday.
