Basketball Recap: Merrimack Valley Takes Down Ranked Oyster River

On Tuesday, Merrimack Valley faced Oyster River in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Merrimack Valley The Pride came out on top against the Oyster River Bobcats by a score of 65-55. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the The Pride also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Merrimack Valley pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Oyster River, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-1 record.

Merrimack Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against ConVal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oyster River, they will face off against Pembroke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oyster River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Pembroke likes a good challenge.
