York extends home losing streak to seven

Recap: York Cougars vs. Indian Land Warriors

The York Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Indian Land, falling 71-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points York has scored all season.

York's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brenden Lacroix, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Steele, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.

York struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Indian Land pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.

Indian Land found their leader in underclassman Michael Jones, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Sincere Rasul, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

York's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Indian Land, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

York will head out on the road to square off against Indian Land at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Indian Land is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.8 points per game. As for they, they will be playing at home against York at 7:30 p.m. York will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Indian Land is ranked 21st).
