Softball Recap: Sequoia Charter Stallions vs. Ridgeline Academy Eagles        
        
		
            
 After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Sequoia Charter finally came back down to earth  on Monday. They fell victim to a  tough 22-0 defeat at the hands of the Ridgeline Academy Eagles. Sequoia Charter lost against Ridgeline Academy in their previous head to head  back in March, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the  1-0 score last time.
 For Ridgeline Academy's part,  Meera Hamieh made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and only one walk). Hamieh has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hamieh was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news, Ridgeline Academy got a  massive  performance out of  Brielle Peterson, who  fired off two  home runs, six  RBI,  and four  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Gretchen Clower, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
 Sequoia Charter has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record  this season. As for Ridgeline Academy, the  victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia Charter will take on Gila Bend at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Ridgeline Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tohono O'Odham at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Ridgeline Academy's favor as the  team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Tohono O'Odham has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
