Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Christian Lions vs. Princeton Tigers

The St. Joseph Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Princeton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Princeton likes a good challenge.

Ten must be St. Joseph Christian's lucky number: they beat Osborn with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Lions didn't even let the Wildcats on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won 12 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Princeton unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of South Nodaway by a score of 7-6.

St. Joseph Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Princeton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Everything went St. Joseph Christian's way against Princeton when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as St. Joseph Christian made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
