            Volleyball Recap: Alameda Pirates vs. Westminster Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            The Alameda Pirates came up short against the Westminster Wolves on Monday and fell  3-1. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves  25-19 in the first  set.
 Alameda started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-21, 25-22,  25-22.
 Colin Nguyen paced Alameda's offense, picking up nine kills. Nguyen got some help from  Damien Ransdell and his 17 assists. Ransdell was also solid from the service line:  he led the team with two aces.
Alameda dropped their record down to 6-7 with the  loss, which was their fourth straight  on the road. As for Westminster, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 6-14.
 Alameda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-0  defeat against Denver Waldorf on the 16th. As for Westminster, they are taking a road trip to  challenge Pomona  at 6:30  p.m.  on  the 23rd.
