Basketball Recap: Kouts Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

After losing to DeMotte Christian the last time they met, Kouts decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Kouts Mustangs & Fillies enjoyed a cozy 63-44 victory over the DeMotte Christian Knights on Tuesday. The Mustangs & Fillies pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the loss, DeMotte Christian still got an impressive performance from Tony Bos, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanyon Bakker, who posted ten points and six assists.

The win (which was Kouts' fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for DeMotte Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kouts will venture away from home to challenge Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
