Fillmore is a perfect 10-0 against Hueneme since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Fillmore will head out on the road to take on Hueneme at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Fillmore's victory against Santa Paula wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Fillmore skirted past Santa Paula 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Flashes in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Hueneme hadn't done well against Nordhoff recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Hueneme was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Nordhoff. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jaucelynn Ayala was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Citlalli (CC) Cardoso-Lopez and Roxanna Silva did most of the damage at the plate: Cardoso-Lopez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Silva scored a run while going 4-for-4. Delilah Pereyra also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hueneme was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.

The victory got Fillmore back to even at 5-5. As for Hueneme, their record is now 5-6.

Fillmore came out on top in a nail-biter against Hueneme in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fillmore since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
