Softball Recap: Tumwater Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Tumwater won the last time they faced Shelton and things went their way on Friday too. The Thunderbirds blew past the Highclimbers 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brielle Womach, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Fields, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Tumwater hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Tumwater has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Shelton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Coming up, Tumwater will challenge Timberline at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blazers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Thunderbirds surely won't give up without a fight. Shelton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
