De La Salle hadn't done well against St. Francis recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The De La Salle Meteors walked away with a 56-45 win over the St. Francis Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Meteors: when they faced off against the Spartans back in January, they had to take a 61-43 defeat.

When it comes to explaining why St. Francis lost, don't look at T?a Rubino. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 10 on her way to 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Rubino a new career-high in field goal percentage (60%). Another player making a difference was Riley Austin, who posted 11 points.

The victory made it two in a row for De La Salle and bumps their season record up to 10-18. As for St. Francis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-21.

Coming up, De La Salle will take on Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus on Wednesday. De La Salle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for St. Francis, they will square off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Ignatius College Prep will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something St. Francis surely won't give up without a fight.
