Softball Preview: Scott Central Rebels vs. Morton Panthers
Scott Central is 0-10 against Morton since February of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Rebels will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Scott Central's victory against Ridgeland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Titans 5-4.
Phoebe Black tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kadelyn Washington, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Jimma Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
