Basketball Game Preview: Mukwonago Indians vs. Oconomowoc Raccoons

Mukwonago hasn't had much luck against Oconomowoc recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mukwonago Indians will head out on the road to take on the Oconomowoc Raccoons at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Mukwonago strolled past Saint Anthony/Milw Ronald Reagan/Golda Meir with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Saint Anthony/Milw Ronald Reagan/Golda Meir are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oconomowoc, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 victory over Waukesha North on Tuesday.

Mukwonago is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Oconomowoc, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9.

Mukwonago came up short against Oconomowoc when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-40. Can Mukwonago avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
